Rider
About
Formed in 2019 in Brunswick, Georgia, Rider blends alt-country grit with classic rock roots and just the right touch of twang. Fronted by longtime songwriting duo Chris and Laurie Rider, the band brings over two decades of musical chemistry to the stage — rich harmonies, heartfelt storytelling, and the unmistakable sound of two voices shaped by years of singing side by side.
Rider is rounded out by Matt Starling on bass, Pete Jock on lead guitar, and Mike Alongi on drums, creating a dynamic, full-bodied sound that moves easily between dusty road ballads and punchy, guitar-forward rock.
Originally hailing from Waycross, GA — where Chris and Laurie first met and began building both a family and a musical partnership — the group ultimately found their stride on the Georgia coast and took on the name Rider. In 2022, they recorded and self-released their debut album, One Last Taste, showcasing their authentic Southern style and honest songwriting.
Now, Rider continues to book shows throughout the Southeast, sharing their warm, roots-driven sound with new audiences across the region.
In the Room
When Rider took the Tigre Island Room stage, they brought a night of alt-country charm, classic rock swagger, and soulful storytelling. Chris and Laurie’s harmonies filled the room with a lived-in warmth, while the band locked into grooves that had the crowd swaying, smiling, and singing along. It was an intimate, heartfelt performance — proof that Rider’s music hits just as hard in a listening room as it does on a big stage.
