Hustle Souls

About

Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina, Hustle Souls blend retro-soul, brass band funk, and singer-songwriter Americana into a sound that’s both timeless and fresh. Overflowing with energy and spontaneity, the band delivers roaring B3 organ, jubilant horn lines, and tight three-part harmonies—all anchored by heartfelt, groove-driven songwriting.

Praised by American Blues Scene as a “generation-jumping mashup of new school second line funk with old school vintage soul,” and described by Bluestown Music as “intimate soul…with a Curtis Mayfield-like warmth,” Hustle Souls have built a reputation as one of the Southeast’s most electrifying live acts. They’ve earned a spot in Music Connection Magazine’s “Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands,” and their sound has been called worthy of inclusion in the great soul music canon.

In 2024, the band released their vinyl debut, while lead singer Billy Litz performed at the NAMM Show in Anaheim as an endorsing artist for the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. Hustle Souls have appeared on major festival lineups including Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion and Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, shared the stage with legends like Kofi Burbridge, and supported powerhouse acts such as Dumpstaphunk.
